Les Choses

I had a gift certificate for the book store so I swung by the mall to pick me up a new book. I was surprised by how many people were there trying to find a parking spot.

Writing is a habit, one that I'm not really in anymore. The good news is that the stories are coming back into my head. Now I just have to get myself to sit down and write them out. Why is it so easy to start a bad habit but not a good one?

This week's been a little mentally hectic. More on that later, maybe. For now I'm completely hooked to the first season of Heroes. I'm even dreaming it.

They lowered the GST (that's one of our taxes). I don't really have much to say about that.

I'm craving a sesame seed bagel right now.

What do you do to calm your mind?

I am exactly here right now:

I need the sound of waves to calm my head. I prefer the real thing but a cd can do it too as a last resort.

I drive, usually with music playing and end up sitting by the ocean. :)

Hope you find some calm. What book did you buy?

go dog walking....today we went to Bowen Park and I stood next to the waterfall until I had drowned out everything I needed to...

Jenn, that's cool to know! Do you live near the ocean? Grow up there? Neat.

Likalia, I bought the next in the Stephanie Plum series that my friend started me on : )

Dilling, that sounds lovely. Yet another reason for me to look forward to one day getting a dog.

Tyler, that'll work too! ; )

Stupid GST has made change giving at work a hassle.

To calm my mind I work out.. I know that seems counter intuitive (sp.) but it relaxs me and then hopefully makes me look good which furthur relaxs me ( I mean who wants to worry about 5 rolls on their stomacks)

Walking is good for me too, and to walk by the sea is an added bonus.

Nothing beats escaping into a good book, though they can be hard to come by sometimes. Have you tried the, "His Dark Materials" trilogy by Philip Pullman? I am on my second reading and am gripped by it.

Walking works for me. Reading too, although it needs to be something very good to catch my interest when I have other things on my mind.

Leah, you know I didn't even think of that? The whole change giving thing? Gah. I work out too, it does help calm my mind, very true.

Tod, just finished 'em, my second time through too! :D

Alexadra, the only problem with me for reading sometimes is that if I'm really into the book I'll stay up way too late reading it. Ooops! : )

When I need to clear my head, I watch a DVD series, Reba or One Tree Hill or Seinfeld ...

Yeah, that's fun too. Right now I'm watching Heroes! : D

On about Heroes, did you ever read the blog post I wrote the morning after I was stood behind a Japanese businessman called Hiro Nakamura on the underground under London?

I was so certain the train was going to stop, and he was going to tell me "Save the cheerleader..." lol

NO WAY!!!! That's awesome. (There was a while when I actually "lost" your blog and couldn't find it..heh.. so I may have missed that one.)

I think I'm going to have to start saying "Yahoooooo!" and things now just like Hiro : )
