Pride

I am extremely proud to be a first generation Canadian* and love both my homeland and this country I grew up in.

Canada's a wonderful country and I love the gentle joy I find here. We are good people.

What's the *best* thing about your country?

*meaning my parents immigrated here from another country but I was born here, and get to have dual Citizenship, yay!

You have dual citizenship? I am jealous - my Grandmother came to Canada just before my mother was born so I ended up 2nd generation.

I would say something nice about Canada but everyone knows how lovely both the people and the country are, right? If they don't they should come visit!

My fave thing about Canada is Bryan Adams!!!:)

The USA? Hmmm. Opportunity is the best thing here. I can do anything I dream of and really don't have too much holding me back. That makes me happy.

Where did they immigrate from? How cool to have dual citizenship.

I think the variety in weather is awesome...people who hate tropic weather can live here as easily as those who love it.

Obviously my favorite part of the USA is our awesome neighbors to the North!

That was the most asskissing comment I will ever produce, so enjoy it.

From home...microbreweries rock way more than here in Canada. And beer prices, too, are better in the states....
Here? People really are "nicer" here....it's true. Canadians are friendlier...

Likalia, the dual citizenship comes in handy as a spy! ;)

Susie, awww Bryan! Hee hee. And opportunity is a great thing to have for sure! :D

Tod, you're claiming her are you?
;)

Woo-Woo, my folks came from Scotland, and that's a cool point you make about the weather, I'd never really thought about that!

McGone, my ass is happy!

Dilling, have you ever gone to the Great Canadian Beer Fest? I took my brother last year and he loved all the US microbreweries that showed up :)

The best thing about our country is that we have an election this year so we can get this embarrassing dumbass out of office. Although I'm not sure if the next one is going to be better~!

D'oh, teamslinger beat me to it. Was gonna say hockey, duh! But okay I'll be boring and go with the beautiful outdoors. I miss the mountains and trees and ocean all in one city. Okay that's technically Vancouver, not Canada, but just let me be nostalgic for a sec here ;)

Abs Jenn, good luck with that!

Slinger, you're so welcome! ;)

Laura, sure is pretty, you're allowed to be as nostalgic as you'd like!

I live in England. There are many great things about it... history, manners, eccentricity, standards...

You know the bit at the start of "Fellowship Of The Ring" - about things being built to last in The Shire ? Tolkein was writing about Oxfordshire in England - where I grew up.

It's not unusual to find 400 or 500 year old houses in Oxfordshire...

Dude, you know I lived for a year in Oxfordshire? We're practically siblings! ;)
