I got some spam texts, too, and realized that spammers were using email software to spam my phone.
Check with your cell phone company to see if people can send you spam by email (ie if your phone has an email address tied to it - like yourphonenumber@cellphonecompany.com - that generates a text on your phone). If so, you should be able to shut off the ability to email text messages to your phone. This wouldn't eliminate your ability to receive text messages; however, people would have to physically dial your phone number from their phone to text.

Nope, no idea. I'm just glad my incoming text messages are free. The only good thing Rogers have ever done for me!
I was all excited when I got the message too "oooh, who's texting me?"
;)
I get them too. No idea how they work but they're annoying!!!
Seriously, eh?

Hope that helps!
