This whole "don't call for three days after a date" thing?

All it does is give me the distinct impression that you're not interested in seeing me again or talking with me any more. Seriously.

Oh, and it annoys me. So there is that too. (Maybe that's what you're aiming for?)

But, really, all in all, I'm assuming that if that annoying me and turning me off isn't your plan, and so either you're trying to live up to some guy code or something. But, let me tell you; if you're trying to make me more interested in you by purposely waiting before you call me after a date? You're going about it very much the wrong way.

Really very much the wrong track.

Amen sister.

By the end of three days I've passed through my "really annoyed" phase and made it all the way into my "forgetting what a good time we had" phase (IF, indeed, we had a good time).

The three-day wait is bad form. Period.

Yeah, it's kind of, by that time I've already started moving on. Silly boys.

Hmmm not to go all Captain Obvious on you, but if you had a good time, why don't you call him instead of wait for him to play his silly little game of Perfectly Timed Wait For A Phone Call?

Actually, I don't know how long I generally go between phone calls.. but that's because I'd use text messages instead. I hate talking on the phone..

Hang on tho.. does this mean you went on a date that you didn't blog about??

Dear Laura and Dominic, I plead the fifth.

Not to quibble, but shouldn't you have determined some level of interest during the date itself?

Also, we've established that boys are dumb (you should throw rocks at them), so as someone has already noted, you should not wait on them. It's the freakin' 21st century.

I'm just sayin'.

Allright, listen people, I'm going to have to speak up for her on this one. I know it's all trendy and popular to be a woman who picks up the phone and calls these days, and I appreciate that liberty.

But some of us are still interested in traditional roles...some of us are looking for an Alpha male...some of us want a guy who has his $hit together enough to know he likes you and wants to call you. A guy who doesn't need to play games and wait a certain amount of days.

That is all we're saying. And as much as some may want to argue this point, guys tend to be the pacesetters in relationships -- at least at the outset. They tend to be the ones who are more skittish. IN GENERAL, NOT ALWAYS. So this evolves from a place that makes a little sense.

I'm just sayin'.

Doug, assuming there was a date (I'm still pleading the fifth on that one) I already know how much *I* enjoyed it and am gaging his level of enjoyment in part with how soon after we hang out he gets back in contact with me. In my experience, a guy who doesn't call me (email, text, smoke signal, telegram, whatever) fairly quickly after isn't that interested and I was grumbling out loud (on line!) about that. I'm not saying I have to wait on the guy :) Although, it does take me a while to get my semaphore machine up and running! Heh

Writer, I think I'd agree... I was just lamenting the fact that I hope there's no one out there (from either gender) still playing the "wait three days to call" and if there's a guy who's doing that to me? Not cool.
