Listen, I don't have a lot of time here, but I've been sent to warn you.
Don't start watching The Real World Brooklyn or The City. (Which, you'd know not to watch already because you've already not been watching The Hills)
Just don't. Because if you do start watching them, you'll watch *knowing* that they're sucking out your soul, but being more and more drawn to them and wondering why oh why did that person just do that, which will lead you back to wondering why you're watching when you know OH so much better?
So, yeah. Don't do it.
Think of the children. Don't throw your life away.
And see? I didn't even link to them, that's how much I love you.
Now please, someone stage an intervention over here?

I totally agree. I used to watch "The Hills," until I realized I'm too smart to waste my brain cells watching over-privileged early-twenty-somethings rise in the workforce without actually working.
I saw a commercial for The City and started to get sucked into the story and forced myself to turn off the TV. I didn't want to have to make the same post you just made.
Good luck with that intervention.
Too late for me I'm already addicted to The City. Is it so bad to escape for 30 mins a week into a glamorous world filled with pretty/shallow people?
I used to watch The Hills, oh gosh, it was sooo bad! I can now say that that time of my life is long behind me.
;)
HOOK, LINE AND SINKER....I'M beyond intervention with Whitney AND Lauren my girls!! We have a weekly social gathering to critic them (make fun of them) but I still love them!
I'll be the first to admit I've had an addiction to a show. Now laugh all you want but "The O.C." was an addicting show. I don't watch much tv anymore so I don't have the problem anymore but my best advice Single Girl! Stay away! but stay away from facebook too that can be addicting. And now I'm ranting - which I should be doing on my new blog which because of you I have started - ACH!
High-heel gal, I hear ya, but some of my brain cells still seem to be dying every week watching! ;)
Kim, oooh, good for you! Just don't start, that's the way to beat the addiction!
ladybug, too late for me too!
Daisy, I got hooked on the City through the Hills! It was a gateway show/drug ;)
Esperanza, can we just hold an intervention for Whitney then? Because Jay? Um.. no.
Photorookie, I only ever started watching the Hills because they said it was "the real O.C." and I'd had a secret addiction to the O.C. for a while! But I'll do my best to keep away from any new shows! And have fun with your blog rants, they can be very cathartic! ;)
Completely irrelevant to this post, but there's a reason for that: Was the lack of being able to comment on the Coeliac post deliberate or accidental?
Oh, and while I'm at it: What did you make of the "Neverwhere" book? :)
Did you close comments on your most recent post? Because I was going to say that I was tested for celiac disease and never got a call from my doctor either but I'm definitely going to ask her about my test results when I see her for my annual physical tomorrow. My tummy has definitely been abnormal of late and I see my gastroenterolorolorologist on Friday.
Hey Dominic, I didn't put comments up on purpose. When I wrote the post I just didn't want to have to deal with talking about it, but it's not quite as much of a shock anymore so I suppose I could open em up again.
As for Neverwhere.... it was fine. I liked it, but didn't love it I guess. Why do you ask? :)
EB, I did close em, but I'll open em up since there's at least the two of you who want to comment ;)
I hope you get things sorted out with your tummy!
Wow, I'm afraid to ask how long your gp knew. I know things get overlooked and such, but geeze!
Er, at least you can still have chocolate? ;)
Hope the stomach issues are improving. {hugs}
Yvonne, when I spoke with her about it she didn't feel like it had been missed or overlooked as she'd sent me on to the specialist. I feel differently, but it's no biggie anymore. *shrug*
There are some chocolates I can still have, yes! :)
Thanks.
too late. now i am intrigued. i will check out the hills, the real world, and the other tv show you mentioned. :]
well, i watched the season 1 of laguna beach a few months ago... :]
Oh no Wednesday, I've hooked you! Noooooo! ;) (Laguna Beach is the beginning of the end!) hee
