Ignore, Ignore, Ignore

Two nights ago a noise started vaguely outside my apartment.

I can not tell you what the noise is, only what my guesses are.  But also, and most importantly, I would really like the noise to stop/go away.

So I spend most of my time at this one window in my place.  Like, it's next to the radiator and also has the best view to speak of and I can get fresh air.  And this one window, because I'm an "end" apartment, sort of ends up with weird echoes of noises that aren't directly outside.  I don't mean hearing things from downtown, which I sometimes do (back when there used to be outdoor concert type things, or when there's a large assembly at the parliament buildings, etc.) but I mean things a block or three away.

Like.... construction that to walk to is a full two streets over and one block down, I can hear the construction guys talking to each other.  Not entire conversations but certainly shouts and yells and laughter.  So I never quite know where exactly the noise is as it can be a few blocks away or right next door.  (Like the last big wind storm there was a "tarp" noise RIGHT outside my window but my best guess is that it was from the four block away construction site but it sounded honestly like it was underneath my bedroom....)

So this noise that started two nights ago is low and "distant".... but it's somehow entirely annoying.  Maybe because it's new and therefore noticeable.  It's not quite traffic... but it is constant.  It's almost like a giant blower/drier fan?  Exhaust fan from.....????? But also similar to the noise a roofing torch makes when it's going CHHHHHHHHHHH (know what I mean?)

So this noise.... is non stop, or at least I notice it at night non stop because night around here is generally quiet, believe it or not (other than usual people noise, I mean ambient noise.)

I don't even think my neighbours can or would hear it.  I don't know where to walk to look to see what the noise is, but damn I would like to either get used to it and therefore ignore it completely or for it to stop.

I suppose I'll get used to it eventually, but I would much prefer it eff right off!
