I was going to write a (probably whiny) post about my lack of sleep over the last few nights, but as I was thinking about it I remembered something....
When I first started going to acupuncture, one of the things that practitioner would ask me (I was, at the time, going for help with sleep) was about heat at night. As in, was I "too hot" at night.
This last few nights, I've been WAY too hot at night. Like, ridiculously hot for what I don't think is particularly hot weather. I can't remember what night it was, maybe Friday? But I actually was down to a single sheet. Like, y'all, I don't do that except in deep Summer. This is still early Spring.
Sure, it's warmer than a few weeks ago, but nights are still not warm warm.
I did switch up one of the things I take at night to a slightly different brand, so I wonder if that's part of the lack of sleep, but the "I'm too hot" thing was frustrating.
And, sure it happens from time to time, but usually I fall asleep and then pull up blankets and things when I cool down but this weekend that didn't seem to happen - I didn't seem to cool down.
Now, I know I've talked before about being a woman and over a certain age and how people talk about peri-menopause and all that jazz and hot flashes but in going to write this post I suddenly remembered that acupuncturist asking specifically asking about heat at night every time I went and she'd do some points that I usually hated (feet points I'm looking at you!) but I'd always sleep better after.
So maybe this is something I need to try to remember to talk to my new acupuncture people about (my original one retired a while ago) and yes, I did actually have an acupuncture appointment last week so maybe my something or other got too warmed up or not cooled off and that's why I'm having this particular problem at a not yet warm time of year. Because yeah, it's not like my room is that warm, and I have both windows open and it's not like I'm sweating or feeling warm to the touch or anything I just feel like I'm too hot. Too hot to sleep. (It's weird.)
Will make a note on my phone to maybe mention this next time.
(Edited to add:  I mentioned this to C-Dawg and she said this weekend has been really weirdly warm at night so now I don't know anymore!)
