Nope! Nuh Uh!

Sleep consciousness is weird.

The other day (in my delicious down time) I had had a poor night with little sleep and so mid day I thought I'd have a nap.

Naps are risky, but I felt it was worth the risk to have a little light sleep.

Now, ironically, I had absolutely no issues falling asleep for this nap with fans going noisily, which is great but also makes me wonder why that can't happen at night.  Why are nap sleeps different from attempted night sleeps?

But here's the funny thing that happened.  I was in the middle of this nap when I started to really really fall asleep.  And apparently I could tell that I was really falling very much asleep because I actually had the thought "nope, you need to wake up more, you can't go into a deep night like sleep!" so I did.  I didn't stop the nap or get up or anything, I just.... part of my consciousness "woke" me enough to not go hard core really deeply asleep.  It was both weird and interesting!

Part of me/my brain was asleep but still knew not to go down to the next level of sleep because it wasn't the right time.... go figure.
