Routines

Do you have any little superstition sort of things you do?

Like, I prefer if the speed on the treadmill is an even number, so I'd rather be at 4.0 or 3.8 and not 3.9.

And I still, when I'm talking about certain things, knock on wood to like, un-jinx myself. Even if there's no actual wood around. Knock, knock, knock. (And if I think about it, I probably follow it up with a triple knock on my head too because I first learned it as "Knock on wood, hairy wood's best." Which I'm now realizing might look odd to people...)

I am weird about stepping on the white lines in the crosswalk the same amount of times on each foot. I couldn't tell you why though...
Lol

I do the same thing about knocking wood...always three taps on my forehead, even if there is wood around.

The routines around sports are even worse, probably superstition meeting OCD. I always get dressed for hockey the same way...right sock, left sock, right shinpad, left shinpad, pants, right skate, left skate, lace right skate, lace left skate, tie right skate, tie left skate...I've done it that for as long as I can remember. And when I play goalie it's worse...right post, left post, crossbar, don't step on the goal line. Like I said, bordering on OCD.

And don't even make me explain the golf routines...

On the plus side, the house is usually tidy.

CC, that's awesome! :)

I can totally imagine the hockey thing Elliott. I'm currently in the middle of trying to figure out what I can do to help the Canucks win. I think not watch. That served them well last year. Right up until I watched the last game and see what happened? Ugh. ;)

I do the lines on the crosswalk thing like candy cakes. Same with gaps in the pavement.

I also like to have the volume on my tv at an even number.

Yep, even numbers are better all round Duff! ;)

I say you should watch. No point in missing all the excitement. My team is now the team with longest stretch without making the playoffs. Well done Leafs. Sigh.

Now I have to cheer for the Sens or Canucks. At least they're not the Habs...

You may as well cheer for the Canucks, and then you can watch their games for me and maybe that will create some kind of luck vortex and it'll all work out! :)

For the record, I didn't watch the Canucks game last night. I was going to, but the 10:00pm start times in my part of Canada was too late and sleep won out. Sorry if my missing the game again jinxed the Canucks. I'll have to make an effort to watch game 3.

Have a good weekend.

Ugh, yeah, I may have watched a bit of it so we double cursed it :(

My bad again...10:30pm Sunday night is too late to start watching a hockey game, sorry.

I hope the Canucks can turn it around, and quickly.

I hope the hockey gets better, I'm tired of watching the goon-show and ridiculous fights (Crosby???)...I hope they get back to intense, old-time hockey, and soon.

Well, actually, it may not be your fault. My co-worker at work has watched all the games and started watching the one last night and they scored 30 seconds later, so it's probably her fault. No worries!

But, yeah, a weird first few games.

And also? Blogger really doesn't like your anonymous comments! I don't know why but they never make it past the spam filter, ugh!

Elliott said...

Oh, sorry about that. I thought it was the filters on my work computer not allowing me to pick a profile. I'm really not trying to anonymous comments, I just don't get the name choice all the time. That's why iput my name at the bottom, so you know who left the comment. Comments from my home computer or phone seem to work fine. Sorry for any double comments.

Oh goodness, please don't apologize! I just wanted to let you know so you didn't have to comment twice if you don't want to! I can rescue your comments from spam :) But whatever's easiest for you, I just wanted to let you know :)

(Look at us, both worried about such a simple thing as if we're bothering the other! High five for being a male version of me) ;)
