A Musing On Masks

I often go back and forth in my mind when I see folks wearing masks (which is pretty much all the time).

Part of me still thinks this is weird.  And surreal.  And can't believe this is happening and maybe even doesn't quite grasp that this is reality and not some sort of dream state I can wake up from.

But another part of me feels sort of proud?  Like I see people in their masks and I feel so thankful that they're doing it.  That they care.  (Or perhaps are just following rules/orders.)  I get a little teary thinking that they're doing their part to protect me, and others, and themselves.  Like, it's this emotional little moment of a reminder that we live life together and it's this one visible thing we can do to take care of each other.

And that's a beautiful thing.

Completely agree with this. I wear mine indoors even if I technically don't have to in order to keep others as safe as possible. It frustrates me when people don't/won't wear them.

Right... I forgot we (all Canadians) don't all have the same mask mandates. We are to wear masks in all public indoor spaces.
