Was looking back through my diary last night, back to when I first stepped back into the (new to me) [workplace] and how awful it was, especially those first days and weeks. (Honestly, it's still awful, just a sort of different type?)
One of the things that surprised me was that I mentioned not feeling well (stomach) more than a month ago. Huh. My current brain had the timing of "stomach stuff" happening at two weeks ago, but I'd mentioned it in my diary weeks before that. Interesting.
I know I "push through" a lot of stuff, and I know my physical health hasn't been as much of a priority and I've not been eating well, or sometimes getting around to eating meals at all and I know I shrug off a lot of stomach discomfort and pain because I've been "dealing with this for years" but it's interesting to me that I maybe sort of blocked out or ignored a few weeks of not so great stomach stuff, and well, I mean it's not like that magically makes it improve, you know?
So anyway, all this to say that last week my acupuncturist suggested a round of probiotics and I'm so super happy to say that they've been helping and my stomach/digestive system is starting to feel a whole lot better. Go figure.
I mean I'd already tried eliminating things and trying to be thoughtful but then I had a day last week when I was eating my snack at work (like I've done this whole time, no new foods) and I nearly threw up. There was this instant, sudden YOU ARE GOING TO THROW UP RIGHT NOW issue and I had to bolt to the washroom and then to outside for fresh air and that's when I realized I hadn't taken any "stomach meds" to work and that I should really fix that, but it also made me realize something more serious was going on with my stomach or something.... (obligatory not a doctor goes here.)
So probiotics seem to be helping, plus whatever points she did her acupuncture stuff at and I'm still going easy on my stomach and I'm still honestly a little afraid of food and especially what I was eating the day that happened. But I'm hopeful that things are on the mend with a little help from tiny little things. Thankful for at least some relief for sure.

Prebiotics are also worth giving a try - I know several people who swear by aloe vera. I prefer inulin myself - no taste, and it just dissolves. It's basically soluble fibre that some of the good bacteria in the gut can digest. Worth a try if you haven't already
OOoooh, thanks D! Will do some googling!!!
