For a few weeks now Jason has been working weekends.
As in, his "weekends", his two days off are Monday and Tuesday.
I work three days a week. My weekends are weekends with a couple of extra days tacked on (for recovery).
What I've noticed is that me having four days off and Jason's two days off not lining up with my days off is actually messing with my perception of days and certainly of weekends.
We used to have a fairly regular routine of me seeing him on my Friday (Wednesday evenings after work) and sometimes the occasional Saturday or Sunday when we both had all day off.
Now it's... confusing.
The days that I'm like WOO HOO NO WORK TOMORROW he has work tomorrow. And the days he's like WOO HOO NO WORK TOMORROW *I* have work tomorrow. So our former nights of "ok we'll watch one more episode even though it's already 10:30 pm" don't work anymore as one of us always needs to get to sleep for work the next day.
So on Sundays I'm like Oh well, work in the morning and he's like WOO HOO IT'S MY FRIDAY WANT TO HAVE DINNER AND HANG OUT? And I'm like.. uh... no? I have to work?
But the point of this post was less to complain about schedules not matching up but more that I'm finding myself confused because it's always a work day for one of us and so when it's a Saturday he's working and my brain is like "should you be working too, you know you're only part time, did you mess up?"
So yeah... days off when not aligned can be weird. Apparently.
