Scent Memory

I was just walking to an appointment and as I walked by the edge of a grassy park area my brain smelled a particular smell and I was very distinctly reminded of field (grass) hockey!

I played for a few years in Elementary school and really enjoyed it (and wasn't too bad at it either) and something about the way that grass park/field smelled brought up the memory of how the fields used to smell at practice.

I walk by this place a lot.  I walk by other fields and grassy places and parks quite a lot.  I walk across grass all times of year.  I have no idea what it was about this day and that time and whatever else had to come together to make it smell exactly that way to spring up that intense of a memory.

Crazy.
