So on Monday I talked about work from home and then on Tuesday morning we woke up to snow and various road issues and busses not running and while I likely could have "made" it to work, I really didn't feel like stressing myself out for a morning's work and so I called it in. Took the equivalent of a sick day and felt really weird (and maybe kind of wimpy) about it. (It all melted by mid afternoon, at least all of the stuff near me... no idea about elsewhere, this town is weird and filled with micro climates.)
I went out that morning to put stuff in the recycling and as I was penguin walking back to the back door a neighbour pulled up (after dropping his kids off at school I think) and we said a hello and good morning and he said, jovially "well, it's looking like a work from home day today!" and I smiled and replied "sure is!" and walked inside thinking how funny it was that I was literally just talking about it the day before.
No point in explaining to casual neighbour acquaintance that I actually *can't* work from home but am happy others have the option so just said yep!
But yeah, it really can be a great idea for those who have jobs that allow for it!
