I've talked a bit before lately about letting spiders keep on keeping on in my place way more than ever before.
As I think I've said, it came from a small article I read saying that spiders in your home a) really are helpful (eat the other insects) and b) are usually just in your eyesight for a few minutes at a time. So I've been trying to let them be.
If they're in my bedroom at night, they get captured and released into the building hallway (I'm aware they may just come back into my place, it's more the out of sight out of mind need I have to sleep!) but the other night I had a bit of a choice to make and I saw it through....
I was relaxing on my couch when I saw a big old fellow on my ceiling. "I'll let you be" I thought. And I got up to pee, and saw another, second spider on another part of the ceiling. "Ruh roh." I thought.... "TWO IS TOO MANY NO NO NOPE!" But I remembered the part about them not really being "out in the open" for all that long and I told myself maybe I could just see what happens. So I went and had a shower.
And when I came back? Sure enough, both spiders were "gone". Hidden somewhere I couldn't see them, so very much out of sight out of mind.
I did, however, shake out my blanket just to be sure no one had jumped onto/into it but yeah, I'm feeling a little bit proud of myself for letting those spiders go where they needed to go rather than relocating them to another part of my building!
Two spiders y'all, I let TWO spiders just be! I'm proud of me and hope they eat lots of nasty bugs for dinner.
