Aching All Over

(Please, if you can, sing that title to "Shaking All Over" as that's what my brain did!  Like, I legit was sure the lyrics of that song were "Aching all over" which, I guess, is not a very radio friendly song after all!)

I've been, as the title suggests, aching all over lately.

I first really noticed it a few weeks ago and wondered if it was from adding the swimming into my life and the different physical movements but it didn't seem to sort of match the main places I'd suspect.  It really did feel all over.

Like I'd sit down on my couch for a while, like I've done for AGES, and I'd go to get up and my ankles wouldn't want to move and they'd be stiff and my body would ache and be sore and it just never seemed to go away but also I was fine in the mornings (like not stiff getting out of bed) which made no sense either?

I took a Covid test in case I was sick but not showing any other symptoms than "body aches" but nope on that.  And, no, I don't feel unwell or "bad" in any other way.  And yes, it's upsetting me.  Especially due to the unknown factor.

I'm waiting to get in to see my doctor to see about whatever doctor type things she'll want to look into but when I was at my acupuncturist last week I mentioned this sort of systemic thing and we talked for a bit and I said that I was wondering about body inflammation and she mentioned maybe an auto immune kind of thing but I said that I knew for lots of things like that that sugar is a trigger and a not so great thing and so I thought maybe I'd just start there and see if things improved at all.

So, I got rid of a few unopened bags of things and I put away the rest of the rhymes with Schmarburst candies that I've been really really enjoying (and really really eating a LOT of) of late and a couple of days after I made the choice to cut down (not eliminate, just reduce) my sugar?  My body felt less achy.

It's still not perfect and I still have areas of concern and I'm still going to go see my doctor but unless it was coincidence I think maybe I was taking in so much highly refined and processed sugar that my body was showing some really negative reactions to it. (Or maybe some of the chemicals/flavours/etc too?)

Anyway... I know I'm aging and I know that involves changes in body things and especially as a woman changes in hormones (although men deal with this too, it's just not as commonly discussed) and I'm taking supplements to hopefully help some of those ouches, but it's hard when things hurt with no reason and I'd like to know what to avoid and/or what to do more of to make living in my body as pain free as possible, you know?

So, we'll see.  This is one of my heaviest sugar times of year but those are generally hand made goodies rather than store bought candies so, here's to figuring out how not to be aching alllll over!  (you gotta sing it!)
