I was putting away some things in my closet (winter warm things, you're next!) and as I was sliding my fire safe back in place next to my indoor earthquake kit (I have one in my car trunk too) I found myself thinking that I really hope I never have to use those things but that I'm still glad I purchased them rather than not having them at all. Know what I mean?
I hope I never have to dig through rubble of an apartment fire to dig out my fire safe. I hope I never have to rely on the items in my earthquake kit after a disaster. I hope like hell disasters stay away from me and my life span but again, I'd rather have the things and not need them than wish I'd thought to get them after the fact.
Sigh.

Correction added after writing this: Three. Three stupidly scary to me earthquakes in the last three weeks. NOT LOVING THIS!
