You WHAT?

It's June?!?!?!

I know I lost the last half of January and most of February to that upper respiratory nastiness (bronchitis or whatever it was) but that still leaves three months (March, April and May) that I seem to have lost.

I had PLANS for this year.  My first year in my 50s.  I was going to make it all about me, not in a self centred way but in an actually take care of myself and put myself first rather than bending over backwards to put others first kind of way.

Maybe I'm still doing that, I'm not saying I'm not... (or am I?)  

I know that my intentions to change up my sugar intake got sidelined by the illness for sure.  Once I felt anything like eating again it wasn't good things that appealed to me and so I allowed myself to just have calories in whatever form and I haven't quite given up the sugar intake that came with that, although I have really increased my protein (yay) and veg (yay) so in that way I'm at least *better*. (Trying not to judge so by better I mean like, I'm doing what I'd like to or something but yeah ok I'm judging.  Sigh.)

But halfway through the year?  Already?  That's crazy.  I guess we've got a few more weeks of spring before we hit summer actual, eh?  

There's a half joke around here where folks complain that we get "June-uary" (like it's miserable like January but in June) and I'm sure you can guess that I'm like oh please may we have Juneuary and then Julyuary and Augustuary?  Please?  (I'll take whatever cooler I can get though, thank you!)

So yeah, it's June.  And yes the days are lengthening and that's lovely too and I'm grateful for every moment of feeling cool I'm getting right now.  I mean I'm wearing socks and under a blanket as I type this.  That's awesome!
