The Scream

So hi.

I got my computer back.

And it broke again.

A different break this time but related to the last one which was fixed.

Apparently.

So now I'm back to no computer. Sigh.

Main logic board.

Sigh.

My brother says Apple should give me a new computer. I doubt it.

The thing that disappoints me the most is all the people who hear about my bad luck and take it as a sign that they'll never get an Apple now. That's too bad because they're great machines to have. I'm just unlucky I guess.

Must go. Not sure when I'll be back.

Still reading though.

Hope all is well. Wish me luck with the 'puter!

I'd still like a macbook in addition to my pc.

I've had my share of problems with my pc. When it works it works great, and when it isn't well I am tempted to chuck it against a wall. ;)

I think computers in general have problems. I know people who never have issues with their pc or mac, and then there are those that always have problems with them too. In general they can be rather hit or miss. Yet I need my connection so I put up with it all.

Hope they get your issues worked out with your ibook or send you a new one.

The old Macbooks have serious issues with heat - which is half of the reason they moved to the Intel processors.

Saying that, they have also been hit by the battery problems that have hit all the laptop manufacturers - my Macbook is only 6 months old, and is on it's second battery.

gah!!!!!!!!
Actually, you are the only person I've ever heard of having such problems with a Mac.
I hope to heck this is the last of it! ;(

Likalia: Thanks! It's good to know all 'puters have their good and bad days! : )

Jonathan: This is my replacement of my original laptop that had several problems. I'm also on my second replacement battery for this one so I'm hoping they fix whatever is ailing mine now!

Yvonne: Good, I'm glad I'm the only one you know who's been so ickily lucky! :D I'm hoping it's all going to be done and over soon too.

I really feel sorry for you. For the duration
that you've been waiting, they should have at
least given you a loaner desktop computer or
something.

My rule of thumb when it comes to any consumer
product is to stay away from the least expensive
within a brand. For example, Apple came out with
the G3 iMac desktop and the G4 tower years ago.
Soon after that, many universities' computer
labs started piling up graveyards full of iMacs
but none of their G4 towers broke down.

If the next step up is too expensive, then I
would buy an older used model.

I had a powerbook that had the same issues, and finally after sending it to Appole for the 4th time, they sent me a brand new one. Which I immediately sold on eBay.

Tod: I like my iPod too : )

Dilling: ASSHATS!!!!!!!!!!! And yus, I liked the Bone People too

YNBF: I'm feeling sorry for me too. If I don't get my computer back this weekend then it's been a month without one and no one has suggested a loaner. Perhaps it is incumbent on me to suggest it?
I hear what you're saying about the least expensive in a brand... if only I were rich, no? ;)
We'll see what happens I guess.

Slinger: This, unfortunately, is my replacement computer for the one that had to be repaired four times. I guess four's their "lucky" number, eh?
Selling on eBay...heeheehee...

And I have a Mac, too. YAY!!

But, since lately, I've been thinking it's pregnant.

I really hope your G4 doesn't die. I mean, it's a really sad event when a Mac's life does finally end. I wish you the best!

This whole story sounds odd, though. Macs don't usually act like this. You're a super secret spy, aren't you? Have you investigated the possibilities of one of your enemies sabotaging your poor laptop?

Just throwing that out there. ;)

the damn boy: If your Mac has babies can I adopt one? (why so do you think it's pregnant anyway? )

danish: So far it's not dead (knock on lots of wood) and I've been lucky to not ever lose a Mac, or at least, not lose all my stuff on a Mac anyway! And, I totally agree, Macs really, honestly, don't usually act like this. I can't believe I hadn't checked for enemy sabotage, you're a genius!!!! ; )

Well, shortly after I got it, it transpired that there was a slight bulge by the trackpad.

Actually, I think the HP in the living room had something to do with that. I should arrange a DNA test.

Good luck with ya Mac though.
