Perception

I believe it was Albert Einstein who said (and allow me some paraphrasing if you will) "You can not solve a problem with the same thinking that created it."

Ever wish you could get out of your own head? Your own thoughts? Ever wish you could turn off the internal chatter?

I know I do.

Check this out for a really fascinating look at our brains.

Makes me wonder how many of my problems are my own making. How many of my "issues" are just me trying to re-hash a problem with the exact same thinking that got me into it.

Food for thought, certainly.

..weird. A brain specialist talking about a stroke puts in all that stuff about "energy" and "spirit" and "nirvana"..?

You know, you can experience a lot of what she talks about through meditating. I've certainly had the "Feeling huge" thing myself. And I'm not all that good at meditating :)

Oooh, the TED talks, they have some truly fascinating presenters/presentations. Jill's is amazing. Thanks for reminding me that I should see what they've uploaded lately. :)

As for turning off my internal chatter I think I'd require one on one with the likes of the Dalai Lama to achieve that.

My internal chatter? It quiet down through meditaqtion, but not materially. The voices in my head are occasioanlyl funny though, so I don't always mind...

Dominic, I think that's part of what the cool thing is, that the feelings she got are due to here losing that hemisphere and the hemisphere we "go to" or connect with when we meditate is the same one she "kept". I think it's cool to hear scientists talk about things like that, funky, even!

Likalia, that's why I like sleep! Can't hear the chatter ;)

Alexandreena, I do keep hearing that about meditation, that it calms (quiets?) the chatter. Guess I'll keep working on it, eh? Funny voices in the head are the best :)

What a clever writing style you have. I really like the way you described your not-so-loved items, and the slideshow was brillo. I saw Mud's slideshow yesterday with the spotty tights, and loved that, too.
