To the Older Gentleman at the Gym Today

Dear Sir,

While I'm happy that the girl you're currently seeing is not a slut, I think you should know that there are some conversations that are more suited for your buddy's living room or the local bar and this was, most definitely, one of them.

Yours sincerely,

(The girl on the treadmill two down from you who kept having to turn the volume up on her iPod)

I have to know--which tune was playing on your iPod? This will give me the appropriate picture. Some songs are better for drowning out bad conversations for others.

Sometimes overheard conversations in public places leave me in open mouthed shock.

I just don't get it - I don't like talking about what I'm making for dinner with my roommate while I'm on the bus, never mind anything more personal... I just don't think anyone really cares to know.

Donald, I can't remember, it was a LONG conversation. I also had to go "lalalala" in my head! ;)

Tod, it really did blow my mind. Like, what if she'd been a co-worker of mine and I'd somehow figured out he was talking about her or something. Gah!

Jenn, it was odd, that's for sure.

I really wanted to turn to them and say "you know what? this isn't a conversation for public." it was really icky :(

Yeah, I might have had to start singing out loud to drown him out! ;)
