Completely Unscientific Poll

New by foundimagination
C-Dawg had an incident last month where she lost the stone out of her ring.

Just a little stone, but she was really upset.

And then super happy again when she found it stuck in the fur of her teddy bear at home a few days later!  (See, I'm not the only one who has a teddy on their bed.)

I asked her if she'd been wearing her ring when she made the bed or something and she said that it must have happened at night because she wears her ring(s) all the time.

Which... wha?

I take my rings off at night and thought that everyone did, but apparently I'm wrong.  So... totally unscientific poll here... if you wear rings or a ring, do you sleep with it on or take it off for bed?

Now I'm wishing I'd asked her if she showers with the thing on too.

I don't wear any jewellery.. but I do wear a watch, which I do take off at night.

Depends on the ring. I sleep with my wedding and engagement rings on. If it's something with a setting that could cause damage I take it off. Smoother designs stay on

I take my rings off ... a right hand ring finger ring that used to belong to my granny & my engagement ring. I leave my wedding band on. I asked for a plain one & have never had it off since we married. Is it not supposed to be bad luck to take your wedding ring / band off?

I wear my promise ring (right hand) and my wedding and engagement rings all the time. In fact the only time I took them off was when I had surgery a couple of years ago and I had to get the rings cut off and repaired (fyi it was expensive to fix probably shouldn't have left it to the last minute before trying to get them off after 21 years oops)

D, so a watch is not jewellery... gotcha. Not even boy jewellery? ;)

Fair enough Sam :)

Is it Anne?

Oh no Brandi!

I guess some watches count as jewellery.. but not mine :)

I'm not entirely sure what counts as "boy jewellery" but since I wear nothing at all to bed, I'm fairly confident I don't wear any..

P.S. Am I the only person juvenile enough to spot the double entendre in "have never had it off since we married"? :)

You may be the only person British enough to notice it? ;)

Wedding band stays on but watch comes off...the face of the watch hurts when you fall asleep on it.

Yeah, watches seem totally logical to take off. I would guess necklaces too (choking?) but rings are a new one to me, that people sleep in them. Guess more proof I've never been married ;)

I wear a gold chain that my grandpa gave to me before he died and I never take it off. I sleep in it, play sports with it, it's always on.

And I always leave my Medic Alert braclet on. Took a bit to get used to it, but it stays on all the time too.

My wedding band is very smooth so it doesn't bother me to sleep with. I do take it off for sports, especailly golf and hockey because it gets in the way and pinches against the club/stick.

Well that's sweet about your chain Elliott, and hugs.

Good call re the Medic Alert bracelet, that's one I hadn't thought of. Oh, and yes, the pinch of a ring against a club or something? OWIES! :/
