Sooooooo

I know it's a pretty hard thing to ask because everyone's taste is so different, but does anyone have a good tv series they'd recommend?

I know, I know, you don't know what I like or what I've seen which makes it harder... I've seen a lot of good shows lately but they've all been kind of... stressful!  Which is fine, but I'd like some happy for a change, I think.

Thoughts?

Okay *rubs hands together gleefully*
If we’re talking Netflix
Then
Miss Fishers Murder Mysteries are fabulous--set in Australia after the First World War. Fanny is a free spirit who solves crimes. Lovely clothes added bonus!
Definitely more intense and a total guilty pleasure Sense8. Netflix original only one season but season two us coming Sexy beautiful people all interconnected in a sifi way.
Also guilty pleasure Scandal. Added bonus it's still on regular TV and the new shows show up on Netflix as well. Sort of like shows on demand.
Luther more intense but great characters good crime stories. And Idris Elba!!! Need I say more?? All the seasons are up too.
Better Call Saul is also fun. A spin off of the lawyer character on Breaking Bad. Though I don't think you need to have seen Breaking Bad to enjoy it. You want to root for him but he's often just an asshole.
Regular TV?
I'm enjoying The Magicians on Showcase-- Monday nights. kind of Harry Potter like with young adults.
Elementary. Good solid storytelling though the first couple seasons were the best. And I like Lucy Lui as Watson. Though they've strayed from canon. Nothing that bothers me though.
The Blacklist just to watch James Spader chew the scenery and his monologues are fantastic.
I could probably think of a ton more--The Husband and I love our TV. We definately get our money's worth on Netflix.

Black Books made me smile and chuckle.

Enjoyed the Garfunkle & Oates series as well.

Portlandia also gives me the grins.

Other than that, my Netflix viewing recently has also tended towards the good by stressful.

I usually just watch sports, so if you want a good laugh, the Leafs or the Habs...but you probably don't get them out there as often as we do.

My wife enjoys The Good Wife. There is a murder mystery show set in the Caribbean with a British inspector, sorry can't remember the name but it's on Netflix. And also The Midwives (I think that is the name of the show) also on Netflix.

And for the record, I'm a die hard Leafs fan.

Oh dear, I giggled, Elliott! You Leafs fans don't always have it easy eh?

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is great! - Netflix original
I also liked Frankie and Grace on Netflix
If you have hulu, Modern Family always makes me laugh
The mindy project is great! (hulu)
I also loved Gossip Girl, it's kind of soap operay but its so fun and addicting (on netflix)

For light shows that's what i got for ya :)

Elana, what is this Gossip Girl you speak of? I do not know it and am not secretly in love with Chuck.

When I feel like crap and just want to escape my brain and laugh out loud, my go-to choices are It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Miranda.
Other "lighter stuff" I enjoy; Life in Pieces, Broad City, The Goldbergs, Brooklyn 99, Limitless, Schitt's Creek and Louis C.K.(though Louis can be dark at times).
Also heard Jane the Virgin is good but haven't seen it yet.
+1's for above-mentioned Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Portlandia and Modern Family.
