I think I have grudgingly accepted that I now have seasonal allergies. I used allergy pills for a month or so there and now have backed off but I think I'm still dealing with them... probably?
See, my ear(s) pop(s).
I have to back up....
The building I live in has an old radiator system for heat (which... DOES NOT WORK VERY WELL AHEM) and at night for reasons only the system can explain (cooling down? shutting off? turning on? I don't know, I give up trying to understand... am a spy not a plumber!) the system BANGS as I'm trying to fall asleep.
Like BANG BANG BANG.
Which is annoying enough, but recently when it happens, if my head is down turned to one side (so ear to pillow) immediately after the bang my ear like... pops?
I'd guess it's whatchamacallit fluid stuff in the ear tube-y things related to allergies because I don't think it's something that has happened all year long or I'd not be noticing it and writing a post about it, you know?
I have experimented a little because I'm often not quite asleep when the wall banging starts up and so I've tried pulling my head off the pillow in case it was a sort of an echo through the walls/floor and that reduces the pop, and I thought it was only my left ear, but then I tried on the other side and it did the same but not as intensely. (I fall asleep best on my left side for whatever reasons.)
So I may not have the plethora of yucky allergy symptoms that some people I know have but I do seemingly have an ear situation that will pop if there's a bang. It has happened occasionally during the day with a loud noise... I think? It's kind of like when your ears pop with air pressure flying or driving up a hill/changing elevation. So I wonder if it has something to do with the bang making some kind of pressure I don't know I need more science in my brain than is currently there!
But yeah... bang bang bang pop pop pop. Not my favourite but a thing that's happening.
It's weird being a human!
