And Also With You

So I just baptized the area around my car with peppermint oil.

You know, to attempt to keep the rats/mice from thinking my car is something they want to check out...

I felt like I was doing some kind of baptism ritual, I walked around my car with a bottle of peppermint essential oil dropping it on the ground in a circle around my car... well, an... oval kind of I suppose and like thinking to myself I hope I don't get any of this on me (spoiler, I think I did, I smell a little minty).

I also opened the engine... uh, what do you call it... not trunk... uh... the front of the car... omg my brain, the... lid?  the ... uh.... WHAT IS IT CALLED???? the hood?  (I had to google, it still seems wrong, my brain is broken, sorry!) and sprinkled a few drops on parts I don't think will melt or something.  I tried to avoid actual parts and sort of put the scent on the edges, I don't know...

I just hope my car is stinky enough to deter rodents but not so stinky as to annoy me?

I wonder what it'll be like when I next go out to use my car, will the scent be there?  Will the oil have "stained" the concrete?  Will my car turn into a candy cane?  I have questions!

But, yeah, that was something I never though I'd have to do in my life!  (I really thought animals in car engines only happened if you live in the boonies or something....)
