I'm really grateful that there are people in my life and around me who have different knowledge bases than I do.
Current example/reason: I was going for a walk the other day (week?) and noticed that one of the parking spots in my building's lot had a bunch of small, brown/dark things in it (the car was away). "That's weird" I thought and kept on walking.
I figured it was some sort of plant detritus that had been blown there by the contractor who comes once a week and blows leaves and things around. Shrug.
Fast forward to yesterday and I saw a note on the vehicle from that parking spot that said "we saw a bunch of rat droppings under your car" and a note in my building's common area saying that they had rats in their engine and we should all be aware and things that might help deter said rats. (UGH!)
Well first of all OH NO! And second of all ewwww. And third of all, ok I have to check my engine for gnawed wires (seems fine???) and then get peppermint oil to somehow put on (?) in (?) my engine area as word is mice and rats don't like the strong scent.
And it wasn't until later that my brain put two and two together. What I'd seen and wondered about in that parking spot wasn't dried leaves or plants it was rat (I assume) droppings. I'd had no idea, it hadn't occurred to me.
So I'm thankful that someone else noticed and realized and let them and the rest of us know! Yay for people who know things I don't and double triple yay for people who look out for others!
And let's all knock on wood that no rodent has gotten into or gone into my vehicle and that things stay that way (oh please please please I really don't want chewed wires and whatever bad may come from that!)
My brain: those are weird dried leaves or something (you know how it is when your mind is elsewhere and you're only half paying attention.
My neighbour's brain: Oh crap. (Literally)!
