For reasons I can't particularly figure out or explain, I've been wanting "savoury" food as snacks lately.
(This is unusual for me as I've always loved me my sugar and like that can go to an extreme!)
I've been making banana muffins for a while now (with a recipe from my folks that I found hand written by me who knows when on a recipe card, awww) and about a month ago (in the middle of Christmas holiday sweets I guess?) I thought "I wish I could have a savoury muffin" and so fast forward through me finding a recipe that looked doable and buying the ingredients and making them this weekend.
The recipe called for crushed (squished!) garlic cloves in melted butter as a like wash on top of the cooked (kind of cheese based?) muffins and later that day I re-remembered that raw garlic upsets my stomach so I went and picked off all the rest that I could see from the remaining muffins but that's not what this post is about!
This post is about the fact that SOMEHOW, after I cleaned and washed up I could still smell garlic whenever I got near the kitchen.
Like did a small piece escape when I was making the muffins? Had some fallen on the floor? Did I not clean something well enough?
I re-washed the two things that were still out drying (muffin tin and cooling rack) and that didn't fix it.
I wasn't loving the situation as my stomach was upset from the raw garlic so smelling it wasn't ideal for me.
The next day I vacuumed and we're a few days later now and either I got used to the smell (I doubt it) or I managed to clean it up (hopefully?) or the smell went away (that happens I assume?) but yeah, rogue garlic smell wasn't on my BINGO card for last weekend that's for sure!
