My last library book was swept out from under me unexpectedly. See, usually I try to gauge how quickly I'm reading a book and try to have the next book available on hold at the library so that I can do a drop off/pick up on the same day (if I time it amazingly) or at least so that I don't have to go for long without something to read (it's part of my bed time ritual).
This last book was a thick one so I wasn't even half way through it when I got the "book due, unable to renew" email reminder. Aw bummer. I'd thought I had more time (not sure why I thought that but I did!) So I took that book back despite having nothing on hold to pick up.
In the apartment I live in, we have a spot where people put things they don't want anymore. A "free" pile so to speak.
I'd noticed a book down there, and so when I came back from dropping off at the library I went to take a look at the book. It was called "The Winter Soldier" and my brain recognized that title but not why. It was... a tv show? I thought? Maybe a Netflix series? But anyway if they'd turned it into a show it was probably a good story and I should give it a go! So I took that book back to my place and started reading it that night.
After a couple of neutral nights of reading this book I decided to look up whatever series or movie my brain had recognized. Which is when I realized my brain had bamboozled me!
Yes, there is a movie (not tv show) called "The Winter Soldier"....well technically called "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and, well, they're not the same story (not even the same universe, ha!) So yeah, my brain was right but also totally not right and I've asked for the library to put a different book on hold for me and once I'm able to grab it I'll return this particular book to the free pile here.

Not a good book, or just not the book you were expecting?
Not a great book (I've since returned it to the free bin!) and I wasn't expecting anything other than "I've heard that name somewhere?" ;)
