I do not wish to call them into existence by typing about them, but rather than having nightmares, I seem to occasionally have a very intense not great dream.
Like last night.
Last night my dream was that I was recovering from open heart surgery. The dream was intense and not restful and I got up to pee and tried to change the dream but ended up back in it anyway so I guess my brain really needed to.... do whatever those types of dreams do. Sigh.
This was one of those dreams that seemed to go on for hours, but of course I don't really have any idea how "long" it lasted. I also find remembering dreams an interesting phenomenon because does it mean you are kind of awake? You are "conscious" enough to sometimes know you're asleep and dreaming and sometimes wake up and remember the story or the feeling or the situation. And sometimes you wake up and a large part of your day is affected by the feeling the dream left you with. (Those I call nightmares or bad dreams.)
Yeah, this dream was intense but didn't have that horror/fear feeling of a nightmare. Just a big heavy dream. Weird.
And honestly, having gone through helping my Dad immediately post his heart surgery, the dream wasn't all that realistic. I don't remember the details but it was more about the scar and being careful than anything else. Weird.
