AAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

There is an owl who is currently living in our neighbourhood.  

I know this because a few neighbours have excitedly told me they've either seen him/her or heard him/her.

And up until the other night, I had neither seen nor heard said owl.

I think it was last Friday where I just was having one of those not sleeping kind of no fun nights.

I found out later it was 3am when someone SCREAMED right outside my window.

This woke me up.

But the noise stopped and so I attempted to drift back into something resembling sleep when the person SCREAMED again.  And at this point, thanks to my neighbours, my brain went "I bet that's an owl" because yeah, it didn't quite sound exactly like a human screaming?  And humans screaming sort of have a pattern I guess?  But yeah, this owl sounded really kind of freaky and must have been quite close to my window and at some point (after a few screeching screams) it must have stopped.

But yeah, birds man, and owls man... they can make some noises you'll never have imagined! (I mean honestly, how often do owls in tv and movies just make that nice quiet whoo whooo whoo sound!  This was not that!)

And PS  I've been told it's a barred owl and when I looked into things it's possible the noise was "immature begging call" or something close to that which now that I type it is giving me the giggles!
