I feel like it's been a while since I've had a book I really enjoyed and therefore ripped my way through.
The last book I had I had to renew to finish, but only needed a few extra days in the end.
This current book I'm on I tried to renew but there are holds on it so I won't be able to finish it, which is kind of the only time I get frustrated by borrowing from the library.
Both this book and the previous one were books where I had watched the tv adaptation and not minded it, or liked it enough to give the book a try.
But for the last one, I'd have to say it was one of those rarities when the show is more engaging than the book so I was quite surprised that it felt like I had to drag myself through it. I even went and re-watched the (short) tv series after I took the book back to see if I'd been wrong, but nope the show was very well cast and interesting enough (and short). The book did not draw me in.
The current one I'm reading (and won't get to finish) also had a strong cast and was a decent enough series, I just can't remember how it ended so may need to give that a re-watch since I'll not get to finish the book.
It's always interesting to me that sometimes it feels like I'm just reading so slowly and other times not. I'm sure it has to do with a few things, probably including where I'm at with life and sleepiness in general.
The last time I had a book I wasn't able to renew I told myself I'd not do that to myself again but I didn't look at the size of this book or its popularity when I ordered it so it just kind of is what it is and I'll live, but yeah, don't remember how the story ends so will probably catch up on that in some way.
