I accidentally got a covid booster shot the other day.
I mean, not like I fell into a needle or anything! Just that I wasn't planning on it, but they're doing walk in boosters in some pharmacies right now and I happened to be in a pharmacy for non pharmacy reasons and was like "well, it seems quiet and I'm not in a rush, I may as well ask?"
And so I waited a bit and then said that I thought I was "too early" to get my booster (I thought it HAD to be 6 months between them) but the nurse said that they say your immunity is gone by around 3 months after your last shot or having covid and so I was fine to get a booster if I wanted. So I was like... well I guess I will then?
I've not been following the numbers to see if there is an uptick or anything like that but having that run in with bronchitis (which didn't test positive for Covid but I mean who knows) and then my parents getting it (I still really hope they didn't get it from me even though I feel like that's highly unlikely as I never tested positive and didn't see them until after I was "better" and even then I wore a mask) it just sort of felt like an ok time to do it.
But yeah, it's kind of funny to think I got a shot by accident. (Rather than booking a time or planning on doing it.) You know?
