Dear Mr/Ms Woodpecker

Dear little fellow,

I do understand that you like to knock your beak into things in order to find food.

I also understand that you have seemingly lived in this neighbourhood for a while.

I'm also fairly sure that I have seen you and you are quite cute.  This isn't about that.

See, at some point this weekend, you seem to have found something NOT made of wood to attempt to drill/knock in to.

And this non-wood thing makes your tapping very loud.  And echo-y.

I really thought you'd give up at some point on Saturday when you were unable to make any progress on the .... sounds like plastic casing.  But no.  You kept trying and trying.

Which is very determined of you.

But really irritating for me.

So I'd like to suggest that you try elsewhere.  Anywhere that you might have some luck.  Not there.  Please.  Dear lord please I'm going slightly insane with the constant noise and echoing of your little beak hammering away at something it's not going to get through.

Please little one (because if you're who I've seen around you're adorably small) please move on?

Thanks,

Victoria (and possibly other neighbours although maybe just me.)

Edited to add:  Oh lord.  I googled.  If it's a male, he's maybe doing it on purpose to show off to potential lady friends.  Waaaaaaaahhhhhh....
