The Inbetween

I apologize to any locals if this post jinxes or ruins anything.... but I think we're in the seasonal transition time right now.

It's pretty much the end of August (apparently) which means Autumn is coming.  And yes, we often have warm or hot days in September, I know, and yes, we have ongoing climate crisis issues so there's no for sure guarantees of much anymore but still.... we've gone through the bulk of Summer.

Which puts me in that position of not quite being anywhere.  Like my fans are still out.  But I haven't used them consistently for a few days.  (I have used them here and there, but not the all day every day I had been.)

But, I'm not ready to put them away.  (Maybe?  I haven't used the one in my bedroom in a few weeks?)

I think I pulled up my comforter last week, but not enough to switch around my bed blanket situation.  Like, last night I pulled the comforter halfway up, not all the way up.  So... no changes there yet.

But what about taking down the sarongs over my blinds?  I've had them up since the heat dome to keep just that little extra bit of sun out, and then to have an open window but with sun coverage.  But I've only used one of them in the last week or two, so probably the others can come down?  Maybe?

And maybe I could put my blinds up?  I've had them either half down or fully down (on the main, big window) for months and I think maybe possibly that's not necessary anymore?

It's been a few days since I've worn my sarong (my "dear lord it's warm" clothing option) and some mornings I've been back to wearing my hoodie around the house and last night I even thought of a hot water bottle but I'm pretty sure it would have been wasted.

C-Dawg texted me yesterday early evening and said she noticed it was a bit chilly out.  The hints are there I guess.

But it's too early to pack up Summer stuff and it's possible there's still a month of warm/hot to come.  And we still really haven't had any rain... so.... I just... I'm noticing we're in that sort of in between time, you know?

The calmer part of Summer, hopefully. 

And I think for now I'm not going to move anything or put anything away.  Because I'm usually that person who can make the rain stop by carrying an umbrella, so I'd hate to bring on a heat wave by putting my fans away!
