What's In A Name?

So, That Guy needs a name, I've decided.

When I asked him what I should call him if I was going to talk about him on this site, he said "That Guy" sounded fine to him.

Yes, he thought, he'd like to be That Guy.

But it's too bulky. Plus, every time I type out That Guy I feel obliged to link it. To something. So I think he needs a name.

I could, of course, just call him by his real name, but that's no fun. And I thought of calling him Far Away Guy, but the acronym for that is F.A.G. and...well..... I'm just not going to go there, m'kay?

So now let's see what you think. I've put some names here that I think That Guy could be called if his parents hadn't decided to call him "That Guy". (Which, of course, they didn't, but that's not the point.)

If I knew how, I'd make a little poll thing where you could vote by selecting the button and then it'd tally it all up, but instead I'll just stick the names here in no particular order and let you go at it in the comments!

Here goes. What do you think That Guy's name should be:

-Steve
-Mark
-Chris
-Adam
-Andrew
or ?

(PS I haven't included his real name or any names that belonged to old boyfriends, so, sorry, Brad Pitt can't be included as a choice.)

It is hard to name someone when you haven't seen them, you have the advantage of things like personality traits to associate with the name. You could just call him by his last name perhaps, if it is a good last name, or a middle name?

From your list Adam is good.

The suggestion of blogger is: Rwkwatsq, but that is so hard to type or pronounce.

Slinger: If I called him Butch, I'd never be able to look him in the eyes again! lol

And I'd always be wanting to say Fuhgeddaboutid. Or something.

As you may know I am a huge fan of the acronyms so I would suggest TG, or TCG (That Cute Guy). But if I have to choose a real name I pick Mark.

TSG (see acronyms, Awesome!)

*giggle* TCG! *giggle*

Or... Mark!

TSG, you're awesome! TSGYA! ; )

The name Link reminds me of Brendan Fraser's character in Encino Man. He is definitely a cutie. :)

"Link" gets my vote so far. Hilarious.

You could go with the Porn Star name game: His first pet and the street he grew up on. Mine, for instance, would be "Pepper Verona."

TSG: ; )

Likalia: He was totally cute! I should go rent that : )

McGone: I'll have to ask him about the porn thing.

Yours,
Doodle Twenty Third

(maybe we should switch porn names. Pepper's kind of girly for you.)

I vote for TG!

Or how about his first initial as a word? (I love how they call Horatio "H" on CSI. >;-D )

Well my porn name by those criteria would be Pudgy Lower Creek. I heard that you do your middle name and then the name of the street you live on. This worked best when I was working for a university back east.. it was my mailing address.. so my porn name then was "Stuart Shaftsbury"... Check out that alliteration.

Of course you could go for the "Star Wars" name. Take the first three letters of the last name, add the first two letters of the first name. In my case I become Orajo... then the first two letters of the mother's maiden name and add the first three letters of the town/city they were born in. Vavan. So my "Star Wars" name is Orajo Vavan. It's easy. ;)

Stuart "Orajo Vavan" Shaftsbury. The Jedi Porn Star? I'm such a geek. lol.

Yvonne: TG could work, but his first initial actually sounds too girly for me, probably since I worked with a gal and we called her by that initial as her name : )

Jordan: Stuart Shaftsbury. Wow. You should really change careers! I'll have to work on the star wars name. It's a little early in the morning for my brain right now!
